Association
The legal background of the Network is provided by the Hungarian Agroecology Network Association (abbreviated: HANA), which – under this name – has existed since 2022, as the legal successor of the Association of Hungarian Agricultural Environmentalists. The original association was established in 2006 with the participation of farmers, consultants and trainers to promote agri-environmental management. Most of its activities were taken over by various organizations specialized in this, e.g. agricultural chambers, which is why the domestic promotion of agroecology became the focus of the organization.
With the name change in 2022, the composition of the membership also changed, which today is a 14-member association that coordinates a national network helping to transmit information related to the topic. Among the members we can find professional NGOs, researchers and farmers alike.
The Association is led by a 4-member board.
The board members:
Lili Sára BALOGH – president, agroecologist, farmer
Zoltán DEZSÉNY – agricultural engineer in environmental management, head of the MagosVölgy Ecological Farm, farmer
Zoltán LENGYEL – farmer, head of the Táncoskert farm
Ecological Agricultural Research Institute – represented by: Katalin Allecherné Szépkuthy
The work organization of the association is assisted by two coordinators:
Éva NEUBAUER – agricultural economist
Mátyás RÉVAI – humanecologist, environmental researcher
